French Antique Polychrome Ironstone Decorative Collectible Small Plate "Assiette a Dessert" in French. This Series is referenced as "688" decor japonisant. Made by famous French manufacturer of Earthware Faience CREIL & MONTEREAU, France, in Terre de Fer, circa late 1800s. Stamped "688 CM CREIL et MONTEREAU Terre de Fer".
Creil-Montereau earthenware is a ceramic production from the communes of Montereau, in the department of Seine-et-Marne and Creil, in the Oise FRANCE and was founded in 1797.
I have 2 different styles on sale. There are 5 with a more gold inner trim and 3 with a more blue trim as shown in the photos and collages.

--- Condition ---
In lovely vintage condition, given the age of the plates there are signs of usage and aging such as slight pattern fading bleeding in certain areas, tiny manufacturing marks/spots/tiny and some are brown from glazing process, areas around the edges where there is wear in the protective glaze therefore the surface is not smooth and refer to the condition unique above relating to a specific plate as shown in the photos. If you are not sure of the condition, please ask me. Please take a look at the photos closely and use ZOOM for detail especially in the photo collages
**Special Note about aged Porcelain**
If you are not accustomed to this ‘look’, google crazing and the aging process of porcelain. The Japanese use crazing to add an artistic look to their pieces whereas antiques go through the natural aging process. Crazing is cracking in the surface of the plate due to use sometimes it's even and is called the crackle look and other times it is random.
These items are old, were used and were manufactured at a time when processes were less under control as today. Therefore, in addition to the defects identified and reported in the ad, slight dimensional differences or deviations in the color or in the decoration between the different parts could be noted. Besides, some little marks or small manufacturing imperfections such as minor defects in the glaze or in the varnish etc., may also be observed.
