1862s/1880s ~ "1683 Modèle" Chinois Faiencerie Jammates ~ French Belgian Antique Ironstone Collectible Plate ~ Terre de Fer

Lovely RARE Late 1800s Collectible Fine French Belgian Ironstone Decorative Small Plate. This pattern series is called "1683 modèle Chinois" and is an Asian Art Oriental Decor Collectible Plate. Made by famous French Belgian maker of Earthware  "FAIENCERIE DE JEMMAPES", in Terre de Fer.    Stamped and imprinted on the back edge "Chinois FAIENCERIE DE JEMMAPES".

The was the first Jemappienne earthenware factory established on the premises of the castle known as "De la Motte" in 1819.   Based on my research of the mark on the back of the plate it was manufactured between 1862 - 1880.  It's decorated with a lovely Chinese themed pattern similar to the rare Pink Indian Tree pattern.

--- Condition ---

In rustic vintage condition due to the age there are some signs of age such as pattern fading, surface ink marks in certain spots, manufacturing marks, surface marks/ bumps from the glazing process, there are areas around the edges of wearing down of the protection glaze or tiny marks where there is no varnish (surface not smooth) and decorative surface crazing and areas of discoloration as shown in the photos and collages. Please ask me if you are unsure. PLEASE use ZOOM to review closely the detail and condition of the plates especially the photo collages.

**Special Note about aged Porcelain**
If you are not accustomed to this ‘look’, google crazing and the aging process of porcelain. The Japanese use crazing to add an artistic look to their pieces whereas antiques go through the natural aging process. Crazing is cracking in the surface of the plate due to use sometimes it's even and is called the crackle look and other times it is random.

These items are old, were used and were manufactured at a time when processes were less under control as today. Therefore, in addition to the defects identified and reported in the ad, slight dimensional differences or deviations in the color or in the decoration between the different parts could be noted. Besides, some little marks or small manufacturing imperfections such as minor defects in the glaze or in the varnish etc., may also be observed.

I ship using Colissimo (La Poste International service) which includes tracking. minimum insurance and estimated delivery dates (which is normally faster than the processing times in my policy section).
