1880s/1900s ~ "MAKHAROV" LONGCHAMP ~ French Antique Ironstone Blue Transferware Oval Serving Plate ~ Terre de fer

Lovely Rustic French Antique Ironstone Blue Transferware Oval Serving Plate dating back to the late 1800s/early 1900s. This model is called 'MAKHAROV' and was made by French manufacturer of Earthware Les Faïenceries 'Longchamp', in the Burgundy area, in Terre de Fer. The cream ivory ceramic is decorated by blue transfer, with garland of flowers around the flat edge of each plate

Each stamped : « Longchamp ~ MAKHAROV CR FRANCE». Each is imprinted with Longchamp Terre de Fer.

--- Condition ---

In rustic aged vintage condition. These plates have lived a fully life and certainly have signs of usage such as some fading in certain spots on the surface, manufacturing marks and surface spots, manufacturing /glazing marks on the surface/spots in the surface, there are areas around the edges of wearing down of the protection glaze or tiny marks where there is no varnish (surface not smooth), each plate has age crackle/crazing lines, there are areas of discoloration spots and more detail by plate below:

Larger Serving Plate: There is a chip on the back side edge handle of the plate.
Smaller Serving Plate: There is chipping wear in the varnish on the side edges of the plate and more visible discoloration on the front of the plate.

All blemishes show in the photos collages. Please ask me if you are unsure. PLEASE use ZOOM to review closely the detail and condition of the plates.

**Special Note about aged Porcelain**
If you are not accustomed to this ‘look’, google crazing and the aging process of porcelain. The Japanese use crazing to add an artistic look to their pieces whereas antiques go through the natural aging process.

These items are old, were used and were manufactured at a time when processes were less under control as today. Therefore, in addition to the defects identified and reported in the ad, slight dimensional differences or deviations in the color or in the decoration between the different parts could be noted. Besides, some little marks or small manufacturing imperfections such as minor defects in the glaze or in the varnish etc., may also be observed.

I pack very carefully especially fragile items and I check to make sure I'm using the most cost-efficient method.
