1890s/1900s ~ "BLEUET" K&G (Keller et Guérin) Lunéville ~ French Antique Ironstone Polychrome Footed Cake Plate "Plat à gâteau sur pied" ~ Terre de Fer en Faience

Exquisite French Antique Ironstone Polychrome Footed Cake Plate "Plat sur pied ou plat à gâteau sur pied" in French.  This series is called "BLEUET" which is a Blueberry plant in English and based on my research of the back stamp these pieces dates back to the late 19th century time frame.  Made by famous French manufacturer of Earthware Faience "K&G (Keller et Guérin) Lunéville" France, in Terre de Fer ('faïence' in French). The variation of the green, blue, pink, brown and red colors used in this pattern are vivid, unique and exquisite.    Stamped on bottom "BLEUET - KG Luneville".

Aproximately 22 cm diameter x 5 cm height & 565 grams not including the packaging weight. 

--- Condition ---

In lovely rustic vintage condition due to the age however there are certainly signs of usage and lovely imperfections such as some pattern bleeding/fading in certain spots, subtle utensil marks in the surface, manufacturing marks and surface bumps from the glazing process, areas around the edge that are not smooth and signs of crazing with some discoloration on the surface in certain areas as shown in the photo collages. Please take a look at the photos closely and use ZOOM for details on the plate especially the photo collages. If you are not sure, please ask me questions about the condition of the plates and request more photos.

These items are old, were previously used and were manufactured at a time when processes were less under control as today. Therefore, in addition to the defects identified and reported in the listing, slight dimensional differences or deviations in the color or in the decoration between the different parts could be noted. Besides, some little marks or small manufacturing imperfections such as minor defects in the glaze or in the varnish etc., may also be observed.

**Special Note about aged Porcelain**
If you are not accustomed to this ‘look’, google crazing and the aging process of porcelain. The Japanese use crazing to add an artistic look to their pieces whereas antiques go through the natural aging process. Crazing is cracking in the surface of the plate due to use sometimes it's even and is called the crackle look and other times it is random.
