Lovely Belgian Antique Ironstone Floral Bathroom water jug pitcher in French "Broc". This model is called "LA LOUVIERE" and was made by famous maker of Faience "Boch Freres (BF)", in terre de fer. This maker was established in 1841 by Jean-Francois and Victor Boch, yes one of the main owners of another known company, Villeroy & Boch. Based on the stamp on the back of the plate, these probably date back to the end of the 19th century (in the 1890s) in its main factory was in Tournai Belgian.

In lovely vintage condition given the age. There are signs of usage and imperfections such as pattern fading/bleeding, tiny manufacturing/glazing marks/spots on the surface, utensil marks/scratches on the surface, there are areas around the edges of wearing down of the protection glaze or spots (surface not smooth or faded), crazing (age crackle), some surface marks as shown in the photo collages. Please ask me if you are unsure. PLEASE use ZOOM to review closely the detail and condition of the plates especially with the photo collages.
**Special Note about aged Porcelain**
If you are not accustomed to this ‘look’, google crazing and the aging process of porcelain. The Japanese use crazing to add an artistic look to their pieces whereas antiques go through the natural aging process. Crazing is cracking in the surface of the plate due to use sometimes it's even and is called the crackle look and other times it is random.
These items are old, were used and were manufactured at a time when processes were less under control as today. Therefore, in addition to the defects identified and reported in the ad, slight dimensional differences or deviations in the color or in the decoration between the different parts could be noted. Besides, some little marks or small manufacturing imperfections such as minor defects in the glaze or in the varnish etc., may also be observed.
