Exquisite French Antique Ironstone Hand-painted Vintage Dinner Plate "Assiette".  The lovely model is called "Strasbourg".  Made by famous French manufacturer of Earthware (Faïence in French) "Sarreguemines" France, in Terre de Fer.

The white ceramic is decorated with a warm red trim and several vivid floral arrangements surrounding the plate in yellow, red, blue, purple and green. There are 2 plates that have a small butterfly in the center. These are unique in that all the plates have a different floral scene and not 1 plate is the same.

Each plate is stamped on the back by manufacturer: « Strasbourg - FRANCE - SARREGUEMINES ». Based on the stamp these plates dated back to the early 1900s.

PLEASE NOTE: I have 1 Plates in stock but the price is for ONE 1 Plate. The listing is programmed to allow you to select the quantity you wish to purchase.

--- Condition ---

In rustic vintage condition given the age. There are signs of age, usage and they all have lovely imperfections such as manufacturing/glazing marks on the surface, slight pattern fading/bleeding in areas, light utensil marks/scratches on the surface, faint signs of crazing that is mostly visible on the back side and both plate has a hairline crack on the flat edge visible from both the back and front near the floral pattern as shown in the photos. Please ask me if you are unsure. I have more photos that I can provide upon request. PLEASE use ZOOM to review closely the detail and condition of the plates especially with the photo collage.

Special Note about aged Porcelain:
If you are not accustomed to this ‘look’, google crazing and the aging process of porcelain. The Japanese use crazing to add an artistic look to their pieces whereas antiques go through the natural aging process. Crazing is cracking in the surface of the plate due to use sometimes it's even and is called the crackle look and other times it is random.

These items are old, were used and were manufactured at a time when processes were less under control as today. Therefore, in addition to the defects identified and reported in the ad, slight dimensional differences or deviations in the color or in the decoration between the different parts could be noted. Besides, some little marks or small manufacturing imperfections such as minor defects in the glaze or in the varnish etc., may also be observed.
