--- Condition ---
In rustic vintage condition due to the age and heavy usage there are certainly signs of usage and imperfections such as some pattern bleeding/fading in certain spots, subtle utensil marks in the surface, manufacturing marks and surface bumps from the glazing process, many areas around the edge that are not smooth as the varnish is chipped (refer to photo collages of the edges it's heavy on some plates however they are not fully apparent while serving), they all have signs of crazing with some discoloration on the surface in certain areas and more detail by plate below:
As mentioned, they all have some sort of chipping in the varnish around the red edges.
Plate N 3 & 4 - There is a hairline crack on the edge of the plate visible on both sides.
Plate N 4, 5, 6, 8 & 10 - There are signs of surface crazing (age crackle).
Plate N 6, 7, 8 & 9 - There are more visible chips on the back edge & plate 9 has a visible chip on the front edge.
Plate N 11 - There are 2 visible manufacturing blemishes where the surface is not smooth on the back edge and inner edge.
Blemishes more visible in the photos (refer to the collage and us ZOOM).
Please take a look at the photos closely and use ZOOM for details on the plate especially the photo collages. If you are not sure, please ask me questions about the condition of the plates and request more photos.
**Special Note about aged Porcelain**
If you are not accustomed to this ‘look’, google crazing and the aging process of porcelain. The Japanese use crazing to add an artistic look to their pieces whereas antiques go through the natural aging process. Crazing is cracking in the surface of the plate due to use sometimes it's even and is called the crackle look and other times it is random.
These items are old, were used and were manufactured at a time when processes were less under control as today. Therefore, in addition to the defects identified and reported in the ad, slight dimensional differences or deviations in the color or in the decoration between the different parts could be noted. Besides, some little marks or small manufacturing imperfections such as minor defects in the glaze or in the varnish etc., may also be observed.
