1930s ~ "MAURESQUE" K&G (Keller et Guérin) Lunéville ~ French Antique Ironstone Purple Blue Transferware Soup Plate ~ Terre de Fer

Lovely French Antique Ironstone Purple Blue Transferware Vintage Flat Edge Hollow Soup Plate. "Assiette Creuse".   The lovely model is made by famous French manufacturer of Earthware "K&G (Keller et Guérin) Lunéville", in Terre de Fer, circa 1930s. This series is called "Mauresque" and translates to Moorish in English. It signifies a north African motif or style of architecture that puts valance in foliage and branches to imitate the kind.  Art Faience.  

The white ceramic is decorated by purple Blue Hue transfer with a lovely Moorish design around the other edge of the plate.

Each stamped : « K&G Luneville ~ Mauresque » in a lovely symbol.

--- Condition ---

In overall good vintage condition given their age. There are signs of usage such as minor pattern bleeding/ ink marks/fading in certain spots, utensil marks in the surface and manufacturing marks and surface bumps from the glazing process as shown in the photos (refer to the collage). There are no real chips or cracks in the surface. Please ask me if you are unsure. PLEASE use ZOOM to review closely the detail and condition of the plates.

**Special Note about aged Porcelain**
If you are not accustomed to this ‘look’, google crazing and the aging process of porcelain. The Japanese use crazing to add an artistic look to their pieces whereas antiques go through the natural aging process. Crazing is cracking in the surface of the plate due to use sometimes it's even and is called the crackle look and other times it is random. 

These items are old, were used and were manufactured at a time when processes were less under control as today. Therefore, in addition to the defects identified and reported in the ad, slight dimensional differences or deviations in the color or in the decoration between the different parts could be noted. Besides, some little marks or small manufacturing imperfections such as minor defects in the glaze or in the varnish etc., may also be observed.
