1940s ~ "OBERNAI" Alsace Theme Henri Loux Scene Faienceries Sarreguemines ~ French Vintage Antique Ironstone Ceramic TRIVET Hot Plate ~ Terre de Fer

Lovely French vintage rustic ceramic trivet or pot stand (trépied or un dessous de plat in French) dates back to circa 1950s and was made by famous maker of Earthware transferware ironstone Sarreguemines . Sarreguemines in Obernai France is a town in the northern part of Alsace. The scene was painted by Henri Loux (H.Loux). This trivet features a lovely scene a country side church.

Stamped on the bottom "Obernai Faienceries Sarreguemines France".

It can be used as a kitchen trivet for hot dishes, plates or pans but can also be used as an essential piece for display for your table decor or a centerpiece.

--- Condition ---

In good vintage condition. Due to the age, there are signs of usage such as pattern fading, manufacturing marks and some discoloration and there is a slight hairline crack on the front edge as shown in the photos. Please take a look at the photos closely and use zoom for detail.
