Charming rustic French Vintage glazed terracotta/sandstone/enameled stoneware gratin fondue pot with handle and pourer in the style of Vallauris (not stamped). In French this is called "Poelons en terre cuites vernissée" This pattern is typically ALSACE SOUFFLENHEIM.

This round piece with side handle is caramel brown color on the outside decorated with large white daisies with green foliage and stone yellow color in the interior of the pot.

This traditional container is used for cooked items that need to be melted like fondue and is called a caquelon. The glazed ceramic pot with thick handle, squat, broad shape and handle with hole in the center is designed so that the bottom and sides heat evenly, which helps prevent the cheese from scorching.

This can be used for cooking or use your imagination as it's great for your unique interior design needs. It has lots of charm!!

In rustic vintage condition given it's age. There are signs of usage, such as surface scratches/utensil marks especially on the inside surface, wear in the protective glaze, manufacturing marks blemishes where the surface isn't smooth, small chips in the varnish mostly around the edges, age spots marks in the varnish, manufacturing/firing spots from the glazing process and there is some age crackle crazing from other firing process and more detail by pot below:

Alsace Pot #1 - Octagon shape - There are several areas with chips in the varnish where the surface is not smooth on the pourer, around the edges and scratches on the bottom surface edges.
Alsace Pot #2 - Darker brown color - There are several areas with chips in the varnish where the surface is not smooth on the handle, around the top and bottom edges and scratches on the bottom surface edges.
Alsace Pot #3 - There are several areas with chips in the varnish where the surface is not smooth on the handle, around the top and bottom edges, there is a manufacturing mark/dent on the bottom edge and scratches and burn marks from usage on the bottom surface.
Alsace Pot #4 - There are several areas with chips in the varnish where the surface is not smooth on the handle, around the top and bottom edges, there is more visible wear of the varnish on the inside surface and scratches and burn marks from usage on the bottom surface.
Alsace Pot #5 - There are several areas with chips in the varnish where the surface is not smooth on the handle, around the top and bottom edges, there is more visible wear of the varnish on the inside surface and the handles appears to have been attached back to the pot but it's solid and sturdy.

These items are old, were used and were manufactured at a time when processes were less under control as today. Therefore, in addition to the defects identified and reported in the ad, slight dimensional differences or deviations in the color or in the decoration between the different parts could be noted. Besides, some little marks or small manufacturing imperfections such as minor defects in the glaze or in the varnish etc., may also be observed.

I ship using Colissimo (La Poste International service) which includes tracking. minimum insurance and estimated delivery dates (which is normally faster than the processing times in my policy section). All items are shipped from France to all over the world and I welcome multiple orders to consolidate shipments to help reduce shipping fees where possible.
