This lovely French German Vintage Blue Transferware Ironstone Flat Edge Hollow Soup plate "Assiette Creuse" in French. Made by famous French-German maker of Earthware Faience "Villeroy & Boch" Mettlach Saar in an early series of "Burgenland" pattern and date back to about 1955 based on the stamp and pattern. It was manufactured in Mettlach in the Saarland on the border to France.
The are decorated with views of the Burgenland on the Rhine/Rhine Valley and the trim is a scene of flowers, tendrils and ornaments.
Each is stamped on the back of the plate with the maker's official stamp "Villeroy & Boch Mettlach, Made in Germany, Saar - "Burgenland" - Mettlacher Kupferdruck (Mettlacher copper print) - Unterglasur (underglaze).

In lovely vintage condition. Due to age, there are some signs of usage such as faint utensil marks, light traces of pattern fading/bleeding however I believe this is what gives the piece its charm and beauty. Please take a look at the photos closely and use zoom for detail.

I ship using Colissimo (La Poste International service) which includes tracking. minimum insurance and estimated delivery dates (which is normally faster than the processing times in my policy section).
