1950s ~ "MARLY" LONGCHAMP ~ French Vintage Ironstone Asparagus Plate ~ Terre de fer

Rustic French Vintage Ironstone Asparagus Plate "Assiette Asperge". The model is called "Marly" and made by famous French manufacturer of Earthware (Faïenceries) "Longchamp" France, in Terre de Fer.

The cream beige ceramic is decorated with lovely flowers with 2 partitioned areas in the plates separated by a barrier. The smaller area is more dipping sauce which decorated by a red or violent flower and the large area is for the asparagus which is decorated with a red, orange, violet and green floral arrangement. They were made with a lighter weight clay as they are not as heavy as some of my other asparagus plates hence the lower price.

The separated area is ideal when serving sauces, or when perhaps there are fussy eaters at the table!

--- Condition ---

In good vintage condition given their age. There are signs of usage such as pattern bleeding/ ink marks/fading in certain spots, subtle utensil marks in the surface, manufacturing marks and surface bumps from the glazing process, signs of crazing on the surface, surface marks and wear/chips in the protective varnish, marks on the barrier lines of the partition due to stacking plates, there are areas around the edges of wearing down of the protection glaze or tiny marks where there is no varnish (surface not smooth) and some discoloration in areas as shown in the photos (refer to the collage).

Plate N 3 - There is a more visible chip in the varnish on the barrier line partition due to stacking the plates.
Plate 4 & 5 - There is more visible discoloration in the crazing lines.
Plate N 6 - There is a small chip in the varnish on the front red trim edge.

**Special Note about aged Porcelain**
If you are not accustomed to this ‘look’, google crazing and the aging process of porcelain. The Japanese use crazing to add an artistic look to their pieces whereas antiques go through the natural aging process. Crazing is cracking in the surface of the plate due to use sometimes it's even and is called the crackle look and other times it is random.

I ship all my products using the French Postal Service (La Poste). For larger items. I ship using Colissimo (La Poste International service) which includes tracking. minimum insurance and estimated delivery dates (which is normally faster than the processing times in my policy section). I am also willing to use Happy Post upon request and where ship location is offered in their service plan.  

All items are shipped from France to all over the world and I welcome multiple orders to consolidate shipments to help reduce shipping fees. where possible.

To be economically responsible and not charge handling fees. when available. I try to use recycled materials for my packaging while being mindful that the materials are suitable to ensure the safest expedition to protect your purchase during the delivery process. I pack very carefully. especially fragile items. but I do check to make sure I'm using the most cost-efficient method.
