1950s ~ "Vieux STRASBOURG" VILLEROY & BOCH ~ French German Vintage Hand-Painted Ironstone Soup Tureen "Soupière" ~ Terre de Fer

French German Vintage Ironstone Covered Serving Piece, Soup Tureen, Vegetable Dish and "Soupiere" or "Légumière" in French.  Made by famous French German manufacturer of Earthware VILLEROY & BOCH but made in France in the "VIEUX STRASBOURG" motif. It has a cream color with multiple flower pattern decorated around the tureen and lid in lovely tones of red, green, blue and yellow. The surface is embossed with a leaf design on the lid and a hole for the ladle handle (not included in this purchase).

It is stamped < Villeroy and Boch Mettlach Made in France Saar Economic Union 1562 > and this stamp dates back to the time frame between 1947 and 1956. The pattern number is 1562.

--- Condition ---

In good vintage condition. Due to the age, there are signs of usage such as some minor pattern fading in certain spots, utensils marks in the inside surface and there is visible crazing as shown in the photos. There is no visible cracks or chips. Please ask me if you are unsure. I can provide more photos upon request. PLEASE use ZOOM to review closely the detail and condition of the plates especially with the photo collages.

**Special Note about aged Porcelain**
If you are not accustomed to this ‘look’, google crazing and the aging process of porcelain. The Japanese use crazing to add an artistic look to their pieces whereas antiques go through the natural aging process. Crazing is cracking in the surface of the plate due to use sometimes it's even and is called the crackle look and other times it is random.

I ship using Colissimo (La Poste International service) which includes tracking. minimum insurance and estimated delivery dates (which is normally faster than the processing times in my policy section).
