This lovely set of 6 French vintage floral porcelain teacups or "tasses" in French are made by famous French manufacturer of porcelain GIEN. Each is stamped GIEN, France with an image of a castle. Based on this mark, these date back to the time frame of 1960-1970.
These cups can be used for their original purpose to drink tea or coffee or use your imagination and display them for decorative purposes or crafting. You can hang them to display the lovely floral design in pink, green, yellow and brown or as hanging lights, tea lights, etc.
PLEASE NOTE: I have 6 cups in Total but this listing is for ONE 1 cups. The listing is programmed to allow you to select a quantity you wish to purchase.
--- Condition ---
In good vintage condition given their age however there are signs of usage such as marks in the surface, manufacturing marks, there is 1 cup with a faint hairline crack on the bottom edge of the handle and a tiny chip in the varnish on the top edge and another has a hairline crack on the top edge which is visible on both sides as shown in the photos. Please take a look at photos and use ZOOM to review the detail of each photo especially the photo collage. Please ask me questions if you are unsure.
Special Note about aged Porcelain:
If you are not accustomed to this ‘look’, google crazing and the aging process of porcelain. The Japanese use crazing to add an artistic look to their pieces whereas antiques go through the natural aging process. Crazing is cracking in the surface of the plate due to use sometimes it's even and is called the crackle look and other times it is random.
These items are old, were used and were manufactured at a time when processes were less under control as today. Therefore, in addition to the defects identified and reported in the ad, slight dimensional differences or deviations in the color or in the decoration between the different parts could be noted. Besides, some little marks or small manufacturing imperfections such as minor defects in the glaze or in the varnish etc., may also be observed.
