1960s ~ L.(Lucien) Lecellier VILLEDIEU ~ French Vintage Copper Bed Warmer ~ Bassinoire Chauffe Lit ~ Made in Normandy

This lovely French Vintage Copper bed warmer "Bassinoire Chauffe Lit En Cuivre" in French.   Manufactured by famous French maker of copper art and cookware "Lucien Lecellier" at the Corporation of Coppersmiths in Villedieu, a town in Normandy, during 1960-1993 until the doors closed. This evidenced by the stamp on the bottom "L.Lecellier Villedieu" with an image of a chaudronnerie.

This French decorative Copper Bed warmer has hinges to open it when back in the day when there was no heat charcoal was used to heat the bed and mattress in the winter. It is a large piece with a long wooden handle with a spring for hanging on the wall for storage and decoration.

I have not tested it for it's original function. I would suggest to use it for decoration and conversation piece rather than burn coal.

In rustic vintage condition and due to the age and usage there are minor imperfections such as surface scratches/tiny dents/marks and faint surface oxidation as shown in the photos. There are no holes or rust that I can see but it's definitely has the distressed look which I think adds to the charm and character. I ship using Colissimo (La Poste International service) which includes tracking. minimum insurance and estimated delivery dates (which is normally faster than the processing times in my policy section).
