Lovely French Vintage Antique galvanized metal watering can or fuel canister can. Based on my research, these pieces date back to the early 1900s.
I cleaned to try to remove of of the rust and tried to fix fill the holes and leaks however I can not guarantee that these are water safe. I believe there are still slow leaks in some of these so I recommend that they just be used for decorative purposes and not for liquids.
Please Note: I have 1 canister left in stock (light green) and this listing piece is based on 1 canister. The listing is programmed to allow you to select the canister you wish to purchase and if you want more than 1 you have to add each 1 to your shopping cart.
--- Condition ---
In rustic vintage condition. Given the age and the fact that they lived a full life, there are some surface spots/marks/dings/chips in the paint/rusting in the metal and dents in the metal however I believe this is what makes this piece unique and just adds to its rustic charm, beauty and character. It has been clean with normal dish soap and water and I used a varnish to protect the exposed areas to help prevent future rusting. As mentioned, when you look at the photo collages, I tried to fill the areas when I saw water leaks but I can not guarantee they are water safe as there still may be holes. I would test them before putting water in them. The yellow canister had a broken nozzle that looks like it was repaired to reattach. Please ask me questions if you are unsure. Please take a look at the photos closely and use ZOOM for detail.
