French Antique Wooden Bidet with "Creil et Montereau Faïencerie" Porcelain Water Basin ~ Bathroom Decor

Lovely Unique French Antique Wooden Bidet Stand with restored painted cover and Antique Ironstone Blue Transferware Porcelain insert Wash Basin Bath.

Based on my research of the porcelain pattern and stamp on the bottom (B&Cie), it was made by the famous French manufacturer of Faïencerie Creil et Montereau, in 'terre de fer', and dates back to the time frame of the late 1890s or early 1900s. Creil-Montereau earthenware is a ceramic production from the communes of Montereau, in the department of Seine-et-Marne and Creil, in the Oise FRANCE and was founded in 1797. This beautiful ivory cream earthware is decorated in blue transfer in the Flora Lichen Barleut pattern.

The wood stand has been cleaned with 100% natural miss mustard seed cannabis oil and the cover lid which has a prior fracture in the middle has been reinforced and sealed with wood filler, painted with environmental safe fusion mineral paint in liberty blue to match the porcelain and antiqued waxed. It is now stable and sturdy and looks lovely with the contrasting dark wood. I couldn’t be more pleased with the results and I hope you will be too!

It really pops in a room and would make a wonderful addition to any rustic living space, shabby chic or French farmhouse themed room. You can use it as a storage bin for personal time to hide them from guests in your living space or a indoor planter........use your imagination as I am sure you could come up with other unique uses.

--- Condition ---

In restored vintage condition. As the item has been refinished, it's clean and residue free. However given it's age, there are still signs of usage, age and lovely imperfections such as the wood has areas of chipping, crack around the edge, dings/marks in the wooden surface and areas of discoloration. The enamel water basin has signs of age such as some wear around the edges, crazing in certain areas and surface discoloration in certain areas as shown in the photos. I thing it's sturdy for use but I would not put anything too heavy into and I would not use it as a chair. Please take a look at photos and use ZOOM for detail. Please ask me if you are unsure.

I ship using Colissimo (La Poste International service) which includes tracking. minimum insurance and estimated delivery dates (which is normally faster than the processing times in my policy section).
