Unique Rustic French Vintage Alsace Pottery Blue Embossed Surface Kugelhopf Kougelhopf (Kouglof) Cake Mold.  Glazed Bundt Baking Mold  "Moule à Kougelhopf" or "Terre Cuite Vernisse emaillee" in French.

These traditional molds originate from the Alsace region in France (towns of Soufflenheim the potters' town and Betschdorf).   Handthrown glazed stoneware decoratively painted with the oldest one dating back to the 18th century.   They have a crown shape which ensures even heat distrubution to the cneter of the dough.   There is a hole in each mold which a rope can be attached for hanging for decorative or storage purposes.

I have other pieces from this region in a similar patterns at the collection link below:  ALSACE THEMED POTTERY

 --- Condition ---

In rustic vintage used condition.    Given they are handmade, there are blemishes and imperfections from the firing process or finger prints left behind during the manufacturing process. There are signs of usage, such as surface marks, lines, bumps and wear in the protective glaze, areas where the surface isn't smooth and there is some age crackle crazing as shown in the photo and/or the collages.  Please use ZOOM to see with more precision.

Besides, some little marks or small manufacturing imperfections such as minor defects in the glaze or in the varnish etc., may also be observed.

**Special Note about aged Porcelain**
If you are not accustomed to this ‘look’, google crazing and the aging process of porcelain. The Japanese use crazing to add an artistic look to their pieces whereas antiques go through the natural aging process. Crazing is cracking in the surface of the plate due to use sometimes it's even and is called the crackle look and other times it is random.

I also welcome special requests that I can keep in mind when sourcing for my shop!
