French Antique Dominoes Set ~ Complete 28 Piece Game "Jeux" ~ Bone Ivory & Ebony in Woodend Dovetailed Box

French Antique Domino Set Complete 28 Piece Game in it's original wooden dovetailed box with sliding lid (inscribed but too faded to read), circa 1890s/1910s.  Made of bone ivory on the front side and ebony on the back side joined by 3 brass tacks/pins on each domino piece.

Approximately Box: 18 cm length x 7 cm height x 7 cm width  Domino:  4.5 cm length x 2 cm height x 1 cm width & 400 grams not including the packaging weight.

--- Condition ---

In rustic used vintage condition.  There are signs of aging and usage such as the minor surface wear on 1 or 2 of the ebony and bone pieces, the box has a few chips in the wood and the lid/cover is a little worn so it does not stay fastened tightly and is loose thus falls off easily however I believe this is what gives the piece it's charm and beauty.     Please take a look at photos and use ZOOM for detail.

These items are old, were previously used and were manufactured at a time when processes were less under control as today. Therefore, in addition to the defects identified and reported in the listing, slight dimensional differences or deviations in the color or in the decoration between the different parts could be noted. Besides, some little marks or small manufacturing imperfections such as minor defects in the glaze or in the varnish etc., may also be observed.

**Special Note about aged Porcelain**
If you are not accustomed to this ‘look’, google crazing and the aging process of porcelain. The Japanese use crazing to add an artistic look to their pieces whereas antiques go through the natural aging process. Crazing is cracking in the surface of the plate due to use sometimes it's even and is called the crackle look and other times it is random.
